Collaborative Sponsorships
We participate in collaborative sponsorships within our industry to help spread the message of pipeline safety to a broader audience base. Below are some examples of efforts we have participated in to help reinforce the, “811…Call Before You Dig” message of damage prevention and pipeline safety.

August 11th (811 Day) serves as a natural reminder for people to call 811 before any excavation project. In honor of 811 Day, Enterprise partners with pipeline operators and other industry organizations to bring awareness to pipeline safety by sponsoring a block party in Houston. Since its original inception in 2015, the 811 Day Block Party concept has grown to encompass other cities throughout the US.

On August 11, 2018 (811 Day), Enterprise has partnered with other pipeline companies to sponsor hometown favorite, Cody Johnson live in concert at Sam Houston Race Park! This sponsorship will reach 25,000+ people to spread the message about pipeline safety.

Enterprise supports collaborative outreach efforts with jockeys wearing the 811 message on their riding pants and boots. In 2014, Enterprise sponsored Victor Espinoza as he rode California Chrome to victory in both the Kentucky Derby and the Preakness Stakes sporting the 811 logo on his riding pants, and on a cap in interviews during pre and post races. In 2015, Enterprise backed Victor Espinoza again as he went on to win the Triple Crown riding on American Pharoah. This was only the 12th horse to win the Triple Crown since 1978! Most recently, the 811 message appeared again on three jockeys riding in the Kentucky Derby; and one in the Preakness Stakes. Whether our jockeys prevailed or lost, it was still a big WIN for the 811 message, as it was seen by millions of viewers throughout the US and the world.

As a member of the Common Ground Alliance (CGA), Enterprise benefits from many creative public service and awareness campaigns generated through this organization. One of which is a partnership with Cox Utility Services (Cox) who created the 811 Hot Air Balloon, which toured across the US in 2017 and again in 2018 sporting the 811 message. It has traveled by land, sea and air to participate in some incredible events, gaining outstanding media coverage. In 2018, Cox unveiled the new 811 hot air balloon design. It is scheduled to travel across the US in 2018 raising awareness about underground damage prevention. Check the schedule to see if it’s coming to a city near you soon.

Enterprise has supported various sponsorships targeted at the racing community through membership in the CGA. These campaigns leverage existing partnerships (such as Team Penske and the Shell racing team; 3M; etc.) to raise awareness of 811. In these efforts, the 811 message is placed at various locations on the race car in an effort to gain attention from viewers. These efforts have proven to be very valuable, as the 811 message has been exposed to millions of race car fans over the last four years. Again…811 WINS!
In the past, Enterprise has participated in another creative sponsorship focused on advertising behind home plate in targeted Major League Baseball games. The 811 message and logo was seen by millions of baseball viewers watching these games throughout the US. Yet another WIN for 811!
With over 400,000 miles of buried (oil and gas) pipelines in Texas, it is important for all Texans to become aware of the One-Call System and how it works. Enterprise was one of the first companies to support this video which provides awareness about the importance of using the One-Call Notification System before conducting excavations in Texas. This video aired and was viewed by thousands of people on PBS affiliated stations. Click below to view the video and learn more about the One-Call Notification System in Texas.
Throughout the year, you can see or hear advertisements on the importance of calling 811 before digging. Enterprise sponsored these spots, along with other companies, in an effort to increase the public’s awareness of 811 and pipeline safety. Click here for some recent TV and Radio spots.

In 2017, residents of the coastal communities in Texas and Louisiana witnessed one of the most destructive and costly natural disasters in the form of Hurricane Harvey. Recovery efforts began to emerge in the days immediately following the aftermath of this massive storm. Many of these recovery projects required excavation and digging. Enterprise led the charge in funding a Public Service Announcement (PSA) campaign to remind Texans to call 811 before beginning their excavation recovery projects. This 13-week campaign aired on radio stations in both English and Spanish in Houston, Corpus Christi, Beaumont/Port Arthur and Victoria.
